What you are purchasing is a piece of art that has not been framed. Drops, regardless of fabric used, can tear, the paint can be scratched and of course creases can happen.
Make sure to use only the top couple of inches to secure your drop by clamps, gaffa tape or staples, keeping the rest of your backdrop free from the sorts of marks these can leave behind. A good idea is to use a bit of fabric between your clamp and the drop.
Damage can occur when water, anything abrasive or sharp comes into contact with your backdrop.
A light dusting or a quick wipe down with a damp cloth is the appropriate way to clean your hand painted back drop.
